This is an exciting time to join us. We are growing fast – in fact we grew by 25% in the past year - and as part of our continued growth, we currently have an opportunity for a Database Administrator to join our Envision Technology Solutions Division.

The Role

The Database Administrator role is responsible for analyzing, performance tuning, testing, and implementing physical and virtual database design supporting various business applications. This role ensures data recovery, maintenance, data integrity, and space requirements for physical and virtual databases are met through formulations and monitoring of policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management.

• Gathering business and functional requirements and translating them into robust, scalable, operable solutions that work well within the overall data architecture.
• Creating and maintaining database standards and policies.
• Managing the database availability and performance, including incident and problem management.
• Monitoring usage, transaction volumes, response times, concurrency levels, etc.
• Performing database housekeeping, such as tuning, indexing, etc.
• Identifying reporting, and managing database security issues, audit trails, and forensics.
• Assisting with platform upgrades to efficiently import large volumes of data that have been extracted from multiple systems.
• Assisting with database-related capacity planning, designing database backup, archiving, and storage strategy.
• Providing guidance to other data professionals and applying best practices.

Do you have what we're looking for?

Skills and expertise

• Minimum three years of experience with managing relational database systems.
• Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, and integrity.
• Proficiency with T-SQL and ETL (data extraction, transformation, and loading)
• Familiarity with PowerShell or Python
• Experience with cloud services like AWS and Postgres is highly desired
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a related field, DBA-related certification
